As with most schools, Saint Francis Indian School generally recruits teachers and other academic support staff around April.  However, situations do arise during the school year and positions become available.

CERTIFIED POSITIONS

*GIFTED & TALENTED

1 - Education Technology Integrationist, K-12

1 - GAT Teacher (K-12 Grades)

Qualifications: Certified teacher with mentoring skills and have experience in teaching teachers with Education Technology and be proficient in several software packages.

*SPECIAL EDUCATION

1 – Resource Teacher (7th-12th Grade)

1 – Resource Teacher (9th-12th Grade)

1 – Speech Therapist (K–12th Grade)

*MIDDLE SCHOOL

Social Studies Teacher (7th–8th Grade)

REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL TEACHING POSITIONS: Requires a Teacher’s Certification in the area that applies to your concentration.


1 - SUPERINTENDENT

To act as the Educational Leader/Planner for a K-12 school district.  The Superintendent is directly responsible to the Board of Education for the administration of a K-12 school district of 600 students.  The Board’s goal is to fill the vacancy by July 1, 2013.

QUALIFICATIONS:  candidate must have: 1)  Five (5) years of successful experience as an educational leader and administrator, and 2) a minimum of a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and a valid Administrator’s Certification with Superintendent endorsement from the State of South Dakota.  Candidate must demonstrate that s/he possess excellent business or financial skills through adequate prior experiences and references.

In addition, the following qualifications are preferred:  1) A Specialist degree in school administration with a South Dakota Certificate showing the superintendent endorsement; or 2) A Doctorate in School Administration with a South Dakota Certificate showing the superintendent endorsement.
