Announcement update. Last night during the SFIS boy’s basketball game, a car pulled up outside the school and security overheard a verbal gun threat made by a former high school student. There was no physical gun visible. However, the SFIS security team and administration take every threat seriously. The school was placed in lock down status while a preliminary investigation was conducted. All SFIS safety protocols were followed to protect the students and public. The former student was apprehended by the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Law Enforcement later that evening. SFIS made the decision to cancel school on Friday to ensure that the threat was mediated enough for students and staff to safely return to school. At this time there is no threat to SFIS staff, students or community members. There will be regular school on Monday. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we implement the appropriate safety measures. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact your building administrators.
