SFIS will have an early release on Wednesday, September 09, 2026 due to the water being shut off to repair leaking pipes. The buses will run at 1:30 PM and staff are to stay until 2:00 PM. There will be no practice for all fall sports.
Today, September 4, 2026, at around 10:41am, St. Francis Indian School was in a campus wide lock-in due to emergency traffic being reported in our area. This lock-in ensured school safety. At around 11:10am, Rosebud Sioux Tribal Chief of Police came to the school and advised that everything was cleared and we could lift our lock-in. All Students are safe and secure.
Due to the heat index rising on Thursday, September 3, 2026, and Friday, September 4, 2026. The SFIS transportation director is recommending to release the students at 1:30 PM for both days. Coaches will be responsible for transporting student athletes home after practices.
Staff will stay until 4:00 PM on Thursday for staff development, and can leave after the buses depart the campus on Friday.
